PIAA Track and Field Championship

Lillia Allen won two medals at the Pennsylvania State Track and Field Championship at Shippensburg Univesity on Memorial Day Weekend. On Friday May 24th Lillia placed 6th in the shot put with a throw of 42'.25".
On Saturday May 25th Lillia took 5th place with a throw of 130'1". Lillia worked very hard to come back and have a successful season after missing the entire outdoor season last year with shoulder surgery. She will be attending the University of Dayton in the fall on an athletic and academic scholarship. She will be a huge asset to Flyers track and field program.
The girl's 4x100 meter relay team of Miniya Pinnix, Eliza Brennan, Faith Crawford and Drew Hines placed 17th in 49.55. The 4x400 meter relay team made up of the same girls placed 16th in 4:01.50.

WPIAL Track and Field Championships

The Penn Hills Girls's Track and Field Team had an excellent showing at the championship meet at Slippery Rock University.
Lillia Allen despite a leg injury took sliver medals in both the shot put and discus. Lillia will be a big favorite in both events at states to medal.
Eliza Brennan snatched the 8th place medal in the 200 meter dash.
The 4x100 relay team of Elizabeth Blackwell, Eliza, Faith Crawford and Drew Hines won the silver medal qualifying for the state meet.
Eliza, Drew, Faith and Miniya Pinnix took home the bronze medal in the 4x400 relay also qualifying for the state meet.
The only boys' WPIAL qualifyer was freshman Angelo Allen who placed 7th in the shot put with a personal best throw of 47'10.25"
The PIAA Track and Field Championship will take place on May 24-25 at Shippensburg University.

The girls' track and field team defeated McKeesport 58-52. Lillia Allen continued her dominance in the shot put and discus easily winning both events. Kemi Balogun won the triple jump. Jalynn Mitchell took first in the 100 meter dash and Elizabeth Blackwell won the 200. Eliza Brennan won the 400 meter dash. Drew Hines took first in the 800.
Franklin Regional beat the girls' team 105-36. Lillia won the shot put and discus. Elizabeth won the 200 meter dash and Eliza won the 400. Drew won the 800.
The boys' team beat McKeesport 77-60. Angelo Allen won the shot put. Cory Thomas won the 110 hurdles and the triple jump. Daequan Hardy won the 100 meter dash. Ricky Martin won the 400 meter dash. Supreme Saunders won the 300 meter hurdles and Jonah Silverman won the 800.

The girls' and boys' teams had a good day at Mt. Lebanon High School on the opening invitational of the season.
Kemi Balogun placed second in the 100 meter dash, third in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump. The girls' relay team of Elizabeth Blackwell, Eliza Brennan, Faith Crawford and Skye Brown placed second in the 4x100 meter relay. Drew Hines won the 400 meter dash in a personal best time of 1:00.59. Miniya Pinnix won the 800 meter run. Eliza Brennan won the 200 meter dash. The team of Eliza, Drew, Miniya and Jalynn Mitchell won the 4x400 meter relay in 4:08.04. Lillia Allen won the discus and shot put and Sophia Devito placed 5th in the javelin.
Angelo Allen threw a personal best to win the shot put with a throw of 44'3". He also placed fourth in the discus.

The girls' track and field team beat Woodland Hills 68-55. Lillia Allen won the shot put and discus. Miniya Pinnix won the 800 meter run, as well as the 400 meter dash. Jalynn Mitchell won the 300 meter hurdles and Eliza Brennan won the 200 meter dash. Kemi Balogun won the triple jump. Sophia Devito won the javelin.
Oakland Catholic defeatd the girls team 75-62. Lillia won both the shot put and discus. Miniya won both the 400 and 800 meters and Eliza won the 200. Kiera Ward won the 100 meter dash.
The boys' track and field team defeated Woodland Hills 98-34. Cory Thomas won the 110 and 300 meter hurdles as well as the triple jump. Deshawn Ralston-Jackson won the 100 meter dash and Devyn Best won the 200. Karel Brabec won the 1600 meter run. Jonah Silverman took first in the 800 and Brennon Williams-Howard won the 3200. Angelo Allen won both the shot put and discus. Keshawn Washington won the javeln.
Central Catholic defeated the boys' team 82-57. Cory won both hurdle events and the triple jump. Jonah won the 800 and Devyn won the 200. Angelo placed first in both the shot put and discus.
